Twitter announced yesterday (September 13th) on their blog the addition of five new languages. They’ve added Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Hindi, Tagalog and Malay.
That brings Twitter’s total number of languages to 17. The translation process relies heavily on volunteer translators who help translate and moderate Twitter apps and more. They have a total of 290,000 volunteers and still growing!
Other languages Twitter plans on including soon are: Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish and Hungarian.
If you would like to join in and volunteer, head on over to Twitter’s translation center here.
