Toonblog: Opening Keynote – Scott Stratten and Unmarketing

Author:
If you mail one post in, you hurt your blog

It was a wildly energetic start to the morning from Scott Stratten, author of UnMarketing. He’s a terrifically visual speaker – which was mighty appreciated while I was drawing this!

Graphic record of Scott Stratten's opening keynote

(By the way, let me second Scott’s comment about the horrific roaming fees Canadians have to pay when they’re in the U.S. Never mind the casinos – I could lose our house just by switching my iPhone’s data roaming back on.)

Great illustration with some really cool points about marketing and what we need to do now!

  • Scott Stratten

Everyone should be FORCED to give their presentation with a visual like this…#justsayin

LOVE it, so Scott, blogworld needs to hire you to do this for sessions 😉

Great illustration, really carries forward similar points to Scott’s book, unMarketing. The awesomeness of the content is the key with the emotion being a core component of visitors recognizing the awesome aspect and then sharing that with their contacts. I removed the ads from my site, I will continue to do some affiliate marketing but my primary focus is building a strong network/community and couldn’t let the ads get in the way.

I am so jealous I was unable to make the BWE2010, would have really enjoyed hearing Scott speak today as well as the Copyblogger, and Sonia Simone session tomorrow morning among others…

Thanks for sharing part of the experience with us!

This is great! I’ve seen Scott only via Ustream, but this has got to be the best “Cliff Notes” I’ve seen yet! Bravo.

Thumbs up, Rob! Great job (if only I could draw a 10th as well…).

An incredibly visual display of one of the most fantastic speakers I ever watched. Thank you for capturing it so artistically! Bravo, well-done!

I had the opportunity to see Scott last week during the http://inboundmarketingsummit and I think their could not be better representation of his key message than this.

I guess if twitter would have images instead of characters I think this would capture Scott’s complete message in only images.

    Great job! Very creative!

“Un-Marketing” – the Best Thing Since Sliced Godin!
Got to meet Scott earlier this month in CT, sure with we were in Las Vegas with y’all.
He is soooooo on target. Traditional marketers take note or die.

I’m sorry I haven’t replied earlier – everyone, thanks so much for the kind words. It was a pleasure to draw this… and a delight to see Scott speak. You can bet I’ll be picking up a copy of UnMarketing ASAP.

Rob you really set the tone for the entire show with this Comic. Fantastic man! Thank you for doing an amazing job of covering the show in comics.
