I was recently doing some research about Las Vegas and their conventions for a client and I was amazed at the convention industry in Las Vegas. It made me even more curious to find out about the location of the Blog World Expo and where the event would be held. I decided to continue my research a little. An overview on the convention center can be found:
The Las Vegas Convention Center is one of the most modern and functional facilities in the world – a 3.2 million square foot facility located within a short distance of more than 100,000 guest rooms. Operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), the center is well known among industry professionals for its versatility. In addition to more than two million square feet of exhibit space, 144 meeting rooms (more than 241,000 square feet) handle seating capacities ranging from 20 to 2,500. A grand lobby and registration area (more than 225,000 square feet) efficiently link existing exhibit halls with new exhibit and meeting rooms, and allowing simultaneous set-up, break-down and exhibiting of multiple events.
Those are impressive numbers to say the least.
I asked Rick Calvert about what I could expect to be the amount of square footage that he will be using there for the Blog World Expo, and although I think it will be very big at 20,000 square feet, it seems like a drop in the bucket.
Destination360 [photo credit above] has a great article on the convention center as well. What I really liked to read was that the convention center is a stop on the monorail system and that to me is a big selling point, especially if you have ever walked the strip. I can’t wait to see the expo hall all decked out in blog stuff. My camera will be attached to me at all times!
