Twitter Worm Using Goo.gl URL Shortener

Be careful clicking on any goo.gl links on Twitter today. Several accounts have been hacked since yesterday, posting rogue goo.gl links that lead to a fake antivirus site. If you follow the link, you will land on a site that advertises a solution called “Security Shield.” If you download it, you’ll be downloading malware.

Twitter has issued an announcement on their Safety account, saying they are “working to remove the malware links and reset passwords on compromised accounts.
