True diversity also means an acceptance of other types of opinions / thoughts as legitimate input into solving a problem. It is also very important in creating an environment that is open to innovation. And, a big thank-you to Kristina for bringing this up. Women working in tech seem to be excluded from these sort of presentations - probably not intentionally, but it happens. One thing I really appreciated about BlogWorld Expo last year, though, was that I was able to hear from so many wonderful female speakers and meet so many fabulous bloggers with a wide variety of perspectives. This is such an important issue that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough. Women working in tech seem to be excluded from these sort of presentations – probably not intentionally, but it happens. One thing I really appreciated about BlogWorld Expo last year, though, was that I was able to hear from so many wonderful female speakers and meet so many fabulous bloggers with a wide variety of perspectives.
